You will need to bring to class the following items.

Supply list:

  • 1lb (454g) Fimo Soft or Professional oven bake clay in Black. (Soft is easier to work with but Professional shows more detail. Kay uses Professional) - can be found HERE
  • Pasta Machine - must not be used for food
  • Electric or Gas Oven
  • Ceramic Tiles - to cook clay on
  • Acrylic Clay Roller - can be found HERE
  • Metal Clay Pro Cutting Blade - can be found HERE
  • Metal Cutters - optional - Kay uses 4cm Square, 4 x 5cm oblong and 3cm Square cutter. You can use your blade though.
  • Rubber Stamps - small patterns are best (Collectors Editions)
  • Luscious Pigment Powders - colours of your choice
  • Super Thick Slap it On
  • Trinkets, Buttons, Embellishments - optional - any you may want to add to your cover
  • Watercolour Journal 8x8
  • Guides - You will be rolling the clay out to 5mm thickness. You will need two guides to place either side of the sheet of clay when rolling it out. Kay stacks sheets of greyboard together until she reaches 5mm thick and then glues them together in strips. Approx. 30cm long, 3cm wide and 5mm high.

Great workshop.

I really enjoyed doing this workshop on zoom live with Kay and I love the resulting journal cover. It is great fun but quite a workout for the arms and hands conditioning and then rolling the Fimo. I will be using the technique again to cover some other objects.

Thoroughly enjoyed the workshop which although hard work conditioning the Fimo was well worth the end result. Kay paced the day we'll with loads of information and tips
